No matter what they ever do to us, we must always act for the love of our people and the earth. We must not react out of hatred against those who have no sense. ~ John Trudell.
This is a hard one for me right now.
John Trudell is a poet, musician, and activist. He has faced some terrible moments in his life. His wife, a native activist herself, and children were killed in a fire on the reservation were they living back in the late 70’s . The fire was always deemed suspicious by many, since both were fighting for change, but the case was closed as “accidental”.
I’m not sure I could be that embracing after facing such a hate crime.
Such a time we live in. Freedom of religion embraces all religions, not just Christianity. Human rights are just that: rights. These things should be the norm. We shouldn’t have to vote on them, or fear they will be eradicated with violence. Freedom to worship and love who you want should be NON ISSUES.
